Even though Festival Cervantes started as a way to celebrate World Book Day, this year’s edition has a new goal: to support ¡Cine Magnífico! which will be showcasing inspiring films from Latino film artists throughout the world. Funding for Cine Magnífico will be in part provided by Marble Brewery who will be donating a portion of their profits during Festival Cervantes.
We all know that is not easy to organize a cultural event. You need good people to work together to not only raise the money for an event, but to organize all of the tiny details that go in to making an event successful.
Funding is always the pressing issue. So why would someone want to invest in an event that may not produce an immediate benefit? Cultural events not only serve to promote cultural awareness but they provide a platform for which creativity can spring forth.
Marble Brewery will be holding this fundraiser in its magnificent outdoor patio. The stage will be taken over by the best Flamenco artists of New Mexico. From 5 pm until midnight, we will enjoy dances by the National Institute of Flamenco and Robert Tanner’s delicate gypsy guitar, among others; and because it won’t be a Fiesta without food, The Supper Truck will offer a special menu of Tapas and Paella.
Adriana Maresma will be there to teach us the difference between Flamenco and Sevillanas dances, along with her whole dancing ensemble (Fabian Sisneros, Illeana Gómez, Alejandro País, y Veronica Medina).
Finally we want to thank Cultura Fuerte for their participation. We can´t wait to see these people burn the stage down with their mix of flamenco, Cumbia, Rumba, Jazz and scratches and samples from the wheels of steel.
Entrance is free and open. Come by and drink your favorite brew while you savor authentic Paella and consider buying the newly designed Marble’s t-shirt and you will be helping our ambitious project. You will be part of ¡Cine Magnífico!
We have already tried our on and they look amazing!
See you at the Festival!
